Lake Tus is the most salted lake situated in the Republic of Khakassia (Russia). It is located on the territory of Shirinsky District, four kilometers far from the village Solenoozernoe and twenty-five kilometers far from the village Shira. Shirinsky District is some kind of the richest part of the Republic of Khakassia including more than 40 different lakes (the most famous among them are Lake Shira, Lake Belyo, Lake Itkul and others).
Lake Shira is actually among the most favourite vacation destinations for Russian tourists and guests from other parts of the world. Water in this lake includes a unique curative composition and is very helpful for different sicknesses and medical problems.
Lake Shira is situated in Russia, exactly in the Republic of Khakassia, 160 kilometers north of Abakan town. There is one more lake there 4 kilometres west of Lake Shira – Lake Itkul which is a fresh lake. And also 9 kilometres north of this place these is located the biggest mineral reservoir of the republic – Lake Belyo.
On the west part of Lake Shira we can find a small village Zhemchuzhny. On the territory of this village the health resort “Lake Shira” was founded.
A forest steppe surrounds the reservoir. A rare mixture of dry climate of steppes and fresh air of the lake produces a unique curative atmosphere.
One of the biggest lakes of the Republic of Khakassia (Russia) is Lake Belyo. The lake is situated in Shirinskiy Districton on the north part of the republic. It’s the biggest mineral reservoir in Khakassia. In summer water in the lake is so warm that’s why tourists from different parts of Russia and all over the world like to spend holidays here. There is a good opportunity to swim or to bask in the sun on the lakeside.
Lake Itkul is the freshest and clearest lake in Shirinskiy District located three kilometers further west than the Lake Shira. In summer water in the lake is rather warm even despite the impressed size and the depth of the lake. Beautiful nature and warm clear water the tourist attractions not only from all districts of Khakassia but also from Siberia and the whole world as well.
Due to its size Itkul is on the second place among all other lakes of khakassia. The form of the lake is oval; its length is seven kilometers, the width is five kilometers and the depth is seventeen meters.
